Bellringer/Closing Activities

 

January 5, 2023

Find your name on the PINK sheets to check for your class number. 

Locate the desk that has your class number and have a seat.  

Class Expectations for 2023

  1.  Be seated and working on the Bellringer at the start of class (Starts MONDAY)
    • Bellringers will be collected each day when the timer goes off
    • Bellringers will be graded
    • Bellringers need to have your name and class number on them
  1. Follow dress code requirements
  2. Listen attentively and stay seated
  3. Ask questions for clarity
  4. Write down what you need to remember
  5. Work needs to be organized in your notebook.  
  6. All work needs to include your name and your class number 
  7. Bathroom time should be done at the beginning of class during the first 5 minutes

 

BELLRINGER:  Monday, January 9, 2023 

Remember you need to use the restroom and complete the bellringer

during the first 6 minutes of class.  The bellringer will be collected when the timer sounds.   No late submissions.  

On a clean sheet of paper, write your name, class number, and today's date.

Write down 2 things that you remember from your research last week about the Civil Rights Movement.

Write a quick response on a clean sheet of paper for the following question based on what we read yesterday.  If you were absent, do yesterday's bellringer.  Be sure your name, number, and date are on your paper.

 

What advantage does Ruby Bridges' first-person Point of View provide to the selection we are reading?  How is her point of view better or worse than the third-person point of view from the New York Times article at the start of seletion.

simile, metaphor, personification, or hyperbole.
